Bauxite and bulk terminal

 

 

The terminal is projected to receive and ship bauxites with cargo turnover of 40 million tons per year and is situated on the southern side of the straight.

The storage platform for cargo is situated on the mainland area. The pier is projected to partially occupy the mainland area and partially the alluvial soil (the soil from dredging), and is partially connected to the viaduct. The total area is 40.8 hectares.

The cargo pier is 1680 meters long and can serve three vessels simultaneously.

The pier is projected to serve all main types of vessels from mini-bulkers with deadweight under 10 thousand tons to Seawaymax-type vessels with deadweight from 20 to 50 thousand tons and Handymax with deadweight from 15 to 50 thousand tons with maximum vessel size under 330 meters and drought — 15.9 meters.

The piers are equipped with belt loaders to work with geared bulk carriers and gearless bulk carriers.

The complex includes:

  • 560-meter long pier with the depth near the border — 20.0 meters;
  • Freight fronts (belt conveyors) with three mechanized lines for loading;
  • Loading mechanisms including: gantry cranes “Condor” with maximum carrying capacity of 40.0 tons and boom length of 32.0 meters (during the development period to receive bulk materials including cement near the territory for the temporary reinforced cement plant)
  • The park of forklift trucks with maximum carrying capacity from 1.0 tons to 10.0 tons for operations in the hold of the vessel and on the storage plant;
  • Utility structures;
  • Service and common facilities for 90 people per shift;
  • Storage rooms for parts, rooms for equipment with compartments for inventory and rigging;
  • The shed for the parking lot for 25 forklift trucks;
  • Storage hangars with the total area of 1.0 hectares.
