GOLD
I Stage — preparation:
Composing a geological map with the scale а 1:50 000 — 1:100 000 for all previously explored areas as well as areas with promising geological and geomorphological properties.
- in case of the lack of topobase – composing functional topographical map using old French maps with the scale 1:200 000, Soviet Genshtab (military) maps (1:200 000), orbital imagery and aerial imagery
Composing geomorphological maps to define a more detailed contour of the plateau within which exploration and estimation of bauxite objects will be conducted
Composing a work program for each year covering the following:
– General information about regions of interest
– Rationalization of types and volumes of work
– The methodology of conducting each type of work
– Schedule of operations and their costs
II Stage — finding areas most suited for localization of the gold mineralization
Field works:
- Establishing a field camp.
- Breakdown and mapping of search profiles.
- Search and reconnaissance routes with geological and geomorphological observations.
- Geological sampling of quarts discharges and collapsed formations as well as augmented formations.
- Sediment testing of the first and second order watercourses.
- Excavation testing of eluvial and proluvial deposits.
- Lithogeochemical testing on the net 400 x 90 m (or 800 x 200 — 500 x 200 m) with consequent detailing.
- Mineralogical analysis of concentrates and crushed samples.
- Field processing of geochemical and concentrated samples, preparing samples for chemical analysis (crushing, reduction, abrasion).
Office work:
- Analyzing obtained results and preparing a report with highlighted geochemical anomalies and most promising areas as well as recommendations for following works.
III Stage — confirmation and contouring of the areas located during the first stage, exploration of promising areas
Field works:
- Geological sampling of alluvial deposits to confirm gold bearing of the surveyed areas.
- Inspection of exploratory trenches on promising, in terms of native gold, areas.
- Furrow testing of trenches and identified gold bearing bodies and zones.
- Drilling deviated core wells with PQ diameter on land plots with potential native mineralization.
- Large diameter shock-rope drilling on promising, in terms of discovery of alluvial placers or gold bearing weathering crusts, areas.
- Instrumental binding of the mouths of drilled wells and finding their coordinates in the WGS 84 UTM system.
- Documentation, testing core samples and obtained materials with consequent photographing and sawing.
- Mineralogical analysis of crushed samples.
- Preparing samples for chemical analysis (crushing, reduction, abrasion).
Office work:
- Analyzing obtained results and preparing a report with highlighted geochemical anomalies and most promising areas as well as recommendations for following works.
